Interlude: To those who are lost and seeking shelter
Know that my sins numbered as the stars. And they seemed to fill the expanse of my life. But I did not know what I know now: There is another way. There is a way that seems foolish to the eyes of man, but I tell you from my heart that it is truer than any path I have ever walked. It has washed me clean and saved me from certain death. It has guided me through times of trouble and doubt. And it has nourished me in times of drought and famine.
For a long time, I could not see or accept that forgiveness was possible, because in my wisdom, I judged that no one could forgive the sins that I had committed. But my wisdom wasn’t wisdom at all. It was folly. And my judgment lacked understanding. Doubt and shame whispered to me:
“You have no place among the saints of God. How can God possibly forgive your sins? You are lost.”
But I ask you; can a man be wiser than God who knows all things? Yet, it is God’s wisdom that has provided a way out of our sin and into new life, through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. There is no better path. And no better guide. We need only seek Him out and humble ourselves, acknowledge our sins, and repent. When you do those things, you will find that He, who humbled Himself on a cross and paid the price for our sins, has been waiting for you all along.

Amen. Who wouldn’t serve a God like this? Thank you Lord that you are so loving and forgiving.
